It's A Matter of Healing, LLC is here to help you navigate the challenges you face, unlock your fullest potential, and step into your authentic self in all aspects of your life.

I bring 20 years of combined experience across various contexts, including crisis intervention, acute and long-term hospital care, and work with active military members, veterans, and individuals involved in the legal system, including those housed in correctional settings and psychiatric rehabilitation facilities. Together, these experiences have made me adept at identifying root causes and intervening early through deep attunement before problems worsen. I will intervene in timely ways that not only reframe your beliefs about your lived experience but also, in the process, address the root causes of your dilemmas and concerns.

I treat a broad range of conditions, and our interventions reflect our ability to address diverse and complex presenting issues and concerns. The most basic goal of therapy is to re-humanize your emotional reactions to the stressful life events you have experienced and explore the beliefs about yourself, others, and the world that you carried with you.

Therapy, when done well, can bring about deep healing, and it starts with an unbiased person who has developed, through experience and training, the capacity to evaluate objectively and care authentically without defenses. I hope to help you develop a healthier relationship with your feelings, understand your attachment style, and better navigate negotiating your attachment needs.

My Approach

Our approach to therapy is eclectic. I say this because, everything we have learned and experienced has influenced how we practice psychology today. We are influenced by the many psychology models or paradigms that view the relationship between an individual's thoughts, emotions and behaviors as a necessary organizational process by which we achieve safety and predictability. As mammals and all other living organisms, we learn through experience. Yet, self-validation can be difficult to attain. I have found, over many years of work in this field, that achieving self-validation is difficult for far too many. It is part of my mission to help you to organize and process your experiences in a manner that allows you to easily reach self-compassion and the validation you deserve.

Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) is an empirically validated therapy that provides a depathologizing path to addressing the problem of relationship distress. In this therapy pioneered by Sue Johnson, Ph.D. and co-created with many of her...........

I specialize in Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT). This therapy model was developed by professors and trainers, Suzanne Levy, Ph.D. and Guy Diamond, Ph.D. at Drexel University. The development of this model could not .........

Sometimes, adolescents are interested in therapy, but they are not quite ready to or for safety reasons cannot share what they are experiencing with their parents. In some situations, there is conflict or crisis at home that is serious enough to...............

I follow an experiential model of therapy. There are numerous models of care that use experiential interventions to faciliate healing. I have advanced training in the following ..............

It has been said that life is a series of crises or dilemmas to be solved. This perspective is useful for understanding the challenge of survival in all our lives. Trauma is survival and it can challenge our instinct for justice, causing changes that......

I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. My approach to treating an eating condition is primarily relational. I aim to see each person as unique with their own story of how an addiction to eating came about. From the science we know......

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

I hope together, we can learn how family relationships, culture and the larger macro-environment have impacted and shaped who you are and what you know about yourself, others, and the world today.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are honored in my practice. Knowing the impact of racism, sexism, ageism, and other forms of discrimination, is vital to the path of becoming a therapist. The work of therapy is a journey of self-discovery and my aim, is not to make assumptions about who you are, but to find out more about the impact of your experiences.

I work hard to be aware of my own learned biases and assumptions and not to minimize, avoid, or ignore how biases or assumptions have affected you. We will explore what matters most to you, what is right or wrong for you, and how to let others know what is important, and to receive the support and validation and care you have always deserved and needed.

It matters that you are seen wholly in a way that makes you feel comfortable and safe. My hope is that together we explore how your life story comes alive, and restore its vitality and meaning.
